Moving to WordPress

By | September 1, 2009

I’ve had a blog for years and years now.  Technology keeps changing the it’s never a fun process to try to move to a new platform.  This time, I’m moving my blog from Xoops to WordPress.

Once again, I can’t find any easy way to migrate all of my old posts over without writing a script myself to do it.

Anyhow.  I’ll be keeping the old site up for the sake of the archive, but likely moving some of my ‘best of’ content over as time permits.  Also dropping the domain I’ve used forever in favor of http://blog.brian-shaffer.com or http://shafe.n5net.com/blog .

So yeah, enough babble.  This is my new blog.

pretty sure I’ve seen a wordpress plugin that will import articles from an RSS feed which should work with just about any blog source.

Unfortunately, the rss on the old site isn’t configurable and only does the last 10 posts.
